Located in Taichung’s Beitun District, this project revitalizes an aging structure through a bold exterior transformation. The facade captivates passers-by with dynamic LED light bands at street level, artfully integrated with the brand’s signature materials to create instant visual appeal and draw people in.
At its core, the design reimagines traditional Japanese dining through the vibrant, tech-infused aesthetic of Y2K culture. To carve a distinct identity in a competitive landscape, the space incorporates striking colored titanium composite panels, layered over a backdrop of authentic street textures—rough stucco, rustic tiles—forging a compelling dialogue between heritage and modernity. Angular lines and bevelled motifs, inspired by the brand’s logo, define the spatial narrative.
The layout is thoughtfully zoned to offer a range of dining atmospheres. Window-side counters and a central bar area feature elevated seating and canopy-style details. These zones serve as visual invitations from the street, sparking curiosity and encouraging exploration. The brand story unfolds throughout the space, such as the bold wall design and subtle references to “secret recipe treasure boxes.” Flowing linear details enhance the sense of movement and discovery.
Precision is paramount in the application of the colored titanium panels. A computerized painting system ensures exact color calibration and proportional balance across walls and cabinetry, producing layered visual effects. To deepen the sensory experience, textured finishes are paired with antiqued mirrors, whose surfaces reflect and reimagine the rugged textures, adding richness and dynamism.
Sustainability and efficiency underpin the entire project. A curated material palette minimizes waste, with surplus materials carefully stored for future use in upcoming brand locations. Lighting is managed through an intelligent LED control system, designed to reduce energy consumption and streamline long-term upkeep.
